Miniature Pinscher

The Miniature Pinscher is hundreds of years old, older than the Doberman Pinscher, to which it has no relation. It was developed as a ratter by crossing German Pinschers with Dachshunds or Italian Greyhounds. It was first seen in the United States in that 1920s.
Physical Description
  Height 10 to 12 inches. Weight 8 to 10 pounds. Tail Docked and held erect. Ears Cropped or natural. Coat Short, smooth, and straight. Color Red, black with rust markings, or chocolate with rust markings. Temperament
The Miniature Pinscher is an alert, energetic, and friendly dog that thrives on owner interaction. It is fearless and self-confident. The Miniature Pinscher is typically good with children, dogs, and other household pets, but tends to be wary of strangers.
Grooming
The Miniature Pinscher is very easy to groom. Occasional brushing is all that is required to maintain a healthy coat.
Training
Miniature Pinschers are very intelligent dogs that will learn quickly if training is consistent.
Activity Level
The Miniature Pinscher has a moderate to high activity level. Regular exercise including long walks and plenty of indoor and outdoor playtime are recommended.
