History
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was developed in Pembrokeshire, Wales as a farm dog that herded cattle, sheep, and horses. It is believed to descend from Spitz-type ancestors brought to Wales by Flemish weavers. Today it is still used for herding, but is primarily a companion dog.

Naturally very short to tailless.

Coat
Double Coat – short undercoat with a thicker medium-length overcoat.

Color
Red, sable, fawn, black, and tan. With or without white markings.

Temperament
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is an active, intelligent, and fun loving dog that gets along with almost everyone. It does well with children and is very devoted to its family. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi can be wary of strangers, but will warm up once it feels comfortable with them.
Grooming
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is very easy to groom. Occasional brushing is all that is required to remove dead hair and maintain a healthy coat.
Training
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is an intelligent breed that is easily trainable. It will learn quickly with consistent training and praise.
Activity Level
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi has a moderate to high activity level. Regular exercise including long walks and plenty of indoor and outdoor playtime are recommended.
